Organisation: Belfast Healthy Cities
|
Description:
Belfast Healthy Cities is a partnership organisation working to achieve the World Health Organisation healthy city requirements at a local level. Our focus is to test and develop innovative joint approaches to health improvement in the city. Our role is to keep health high on the political and social agenda, engage non health sectors and promote integrated planning to achieve health outcomes.
The key requirements for the current five-year phase include: healthy urban planning; health impact assessment; healthy ageing and physical activity. A key aspect of our work is to build capacity across public, voluntary and community organisations and across government departments to influence policy development and their actions to improve health and address inequalities in health.
