Organisation:
Eastern Investing for Health Partnership - Down/Lisburn
|
Description:
The Eastern Board has lead responsibility for the outworking of the Investing for Health (IfH) strategy. It has established four IfH managers to lead this work in each of its four major geographical areas. The focus of this work is to encourage locally relevant intersectoral action planning and delivery across the breadth of the IfH agenda.
Within the Down Lisburn locality, this engagement is led through a number of multi-agency IfH partnership planning groups such as Down 2010 and the Colin Neighbourhood Health For All group. A number of Community of Interest (COI) groups have been established to develop and co-ordinate action in issue specific areas: Fit Futures, Physical Activity and Childhood Obesity, Fuel Poverty, Mental Health Promotion and Suicide Prevention, Home Accident Prevention, Alcohol and Drugs, Sexual Health and Teenage Pregnancy, and Smoking.
The work of these partnerships culminates in the development of a locality Health Improvement Plan which provides a framework for action across community, statutory and voluntary partners and the shaping of service commissioning and investment within the area.
