Organisation:
Eastern Investing for Health Partnership - South/East/Castlereagh
|
Description:
The approach undertaken by the Eastern area Investing for Health Partnership (EIFHP) to progress planning and delivery on the Investing for Health (IfH) agenda has been to locate an IfH manager within four geographical areas and to encourage locally relevant intersectoral action planning and delivery.
For South and East Belfast and Castlereagh, this has led to the establishment of multi-agency Community of Interest (COI) groups. These include a Fit Futures/Childhood Obesity COI, Fuel Poverty COI, and a Mental Health Promotion COI. This locality approach ensures an overall programme of action based on local need and the headings of the seven IFH objectives. A locality health improvement plan is generated and monitored on an annual basis, and implementation of the plan is supported by the resourcefulness and willingness of organisations to come around tables to prioritise and deliver.
