Organisation: The Nursing Education and Development Consortium North and West

Description:
The Nursing Education and Development Consortium North and West is situated within the Northern and Western Health and Social Care Trusts to provide post-registration education and training for nursing staff within these Trusts. It is funded by the DHSSPS and the scheduled education activity includes university accredited work-based modules, study days and short courses.

In response to emerging education and training needs within the Trusts, and requests from the DHSSPS for specific training, the Nursing Education and Development Consortium, plans and delivers education programmes within an agreed timeframe. This training activity is sometimes delivered in partnership with other education providers to a multi-disciplinary audience.

Nursing And Midwifery Council (NMC) approved pre-registration programmes, Return To Professional Practice and Overseas Nursing, are delivered by the Nursing Education and Development Consortium and the organisation is required to adhere to NMC educational standards and its monitoring processes.
