 NI Chest Heart & Stroke

Organisation: Northern Ireland Chest Heart & Stroke

Description:

Northern Ireland Chest Heart & Stroke (NICHS) is a medical charity.

NICHS funds research in the hospitals and universities of Northern Ireland to help prevent and alleviate chest, heart and stroke illnesses in our community. In addition, we provide programmes of support services for stroke clients, cardiac sufferers, as well as respiratory patients in Northern Ireland.

It is our aim to ensure that greater and speedier access is given to treatment of these illnesses in Northern Ireland. The programmes of care depend on voluntary donations, with less than 20% coming from statutory bodies. Over the past number of years, NICHS has acted as the advocate on behalf of clients and carers to public representatives and to Government.
