The North-West Community Network, formed in 1994, is an independent alliance of community and voluntary organisations. It provides a focus for the diverse cultures, beliefs, ideas and activities of local people and for the community and voluntary organisations, addressing their needs.
The Network is committed to social change by fostering the underlying principles of community development and creating a fully inclusive and participative democracy.
The Network has a long track-record of being the most effective representative organisation for the sector in the north-west and is well-recognised as a reliable source of information, support, representation and influence on decision-making and public policy.
It is an organisation that strives to develop and support community development activity within the community and voluntary sector in the north-west, a purpose it meets through:
 | representing the needs of the area/region it serves at network and individual organisation level;

 | providing a locus for lobbying, influence and user involvement for the area/region it serves;

 | networking and providing interface with key statutory agencies and other organisations;
|
 | promoting and facilitating training and capacity building programmes;
|
 | interpreting and disseminating information. |
