North East Local Commissioning Group (LCG) has a responsibility to commission a comprehensive range of health and social care services for all people living in Coleraine, Ballymoney, Moyle, Larne and Ballymena Council areas. In taking this forward, we aim to give primary care professionals and communities a real say and meaningful involvement in our work and see the future provision of local services as one which professionals, patients and communities can work in partnership to improve.

North East LCG also accepts that its wider role within the community is to take responsibility for Investing for Health in a cohesive and integrated way. In summary, the LCG aims to commission services which are of:

North East LCG seeks to improve local health and social care services by identifying local need and planning, and commissioning services to meet that need. Accordingly, particular areas of expertise include:
Undertaking the analysis of complex data to inform needs assessments and agreeing outcomes to underpin decision making;

Person centred priority setting;

Developing stakeholder engagement and partnership working arrangements;

Addressing health inequalities through implementation of evidence based practice to meet the identified need;

Designing robust performance management /evaluation tools to measure performance against targets.
