Organisation: Western Equality and Human Rights Forum

Description:

The Western Equality and Human Rights Forum is responsible for ensuring that all health organisations in the Western area, ie Western Health and Social Care Trust, Western Health and Social Services Board and Western Health and Social Services Council, collaboratively progress their obligations under their Equality Schemes. The Forum meets on a monthly basis, and its membership consists of senior managers from all Western health organisations.

In 2002 the Forum established an Equality and Human Rights Unit with three staff members. The Unit plays a lead role in promoting equality and human rights across the three organisations, and provides support and training in the area of equality and human rights for health staff and managers and monitors progress.
